Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier

April 29, 2005 (9 years old)

16" / 50 lbs.

Kayley is outgoing and loves people of all ages. She is very gentle and wants nothing more than to be petted. She is very driven by food and never met a treat she didn’t like. Peanut butter and chicken drive her wild! She gets very excited when it snows, and runs in circles and jumps in the air to catch flakes, barking the whole time. We walk at least 2 miles a day and she is always eager to have her harness or collar put on.

2 obedience classes, CGC, Pet Partner therapy dog.

How Do You Know That Your Dog Loves Therapy Work?

When I put on Kayley’s special therapy harness, she knows she is going to work and her whole demeanor changes. She is familiar with the 3 places we have been going since January and she runs eagerly to the doors. She greets the residents and positions her body for petting. Her tail is in constant motion, but she is very calm and never runs inside.

In Memory

Kayley had a wonderful 12 1/2 years as a smart, loving pet and 5 years as a sweet, gentle therapy dog. Despite hating to dance, she made it through the Nutcracker! I miss her enormously.
