Nina is a true gentle giant. She is affectionate and calm. She loves everyone of all ages. She loves to lean on her favorite people.

Nina is a rescue dog and did not know any commands when she came to her forever home at the age of 3 years old. She has participated in a few basic obedience classes to learn commands like Sit, Down, Stay, and Come. She passed the Canine Good Citizen test in the summer of 2014. She is beginning to learn a few tricks like Spin and Paw/Shake.

Favorite Treat

Nina loves rawhides. This is the only word that can entice her inside on a nice day!

How Do You Know That Your Dog Loves Therapy Work?

Nina is a natural therapy dog. About 2 months after I adopted Nina we went home to visit my grandmother who was in home hospice. Nina walked into her bedroom and immediately laid her head down on the edge of my grandma’s bed by her hand. She just knew what to do!

More about Nina...

Nina is a Great Pyrenees, the first of her breed in the PAWSitive Therapy Troupe! Great Pyrenees are bred to protect sheep, goats, and other livestock. They also protect their family, children, the grass, flowers, their bird feeders and more. While they are devoted protectors, they are also extremely gentle and loving dogs.
