Shetland Sheepdog or "Sheltie"

April 1, 2002

16" at the shoulder / 27 lbs.

Riley has a goofy, happy go lucky personality. He is a constant shadow and is always so happy to see Wendy, even if she is only gone from his sight for a short time. He is very affectionate and loves to give hugs and kisses, he hugs by using his front paw and legs to wrap around hiw owners leg, he does this on his own and on command. He also loves to "sing", he is the first one to start the choir practice at home and then his other Sheltie brothers & sisters join in the fun.

Riley is trained thru Utility work in obedience and he also has been trained for the Confirmation Ring.

Riley has his CD title in obedience, he also has his AKC Therapy Dog Title (TDH) which is an AKC Therapy Dog Title given to dogs that have at least 50 hours of recorded Therapy Dog visits. He also has a Four point major towards his AKC Champion Title, he received these points at a Sheltie Specialty Show. He is also R.E.A.D registered.

How Do You Know That Your Dog Loves Therapy Work?

Riley gets very excited as soon as he sees his Therapy dog vest. He loves Read visits with children the most, he will lay his head in their laps while they pet and read to him.
