Personality

Sophia was bred as a Canine Companions for Independence service dog. When she did not meet the rigorous standards set by CCI she was released from the program as a "Change of Career" dog. She came up short of the high standards in part because of her friendliness and desire to meet everybody! She's been described by many as the "happiest dog I've ever met"! Her motto could be: Girls just wanna have fun! She loves to play games and will retrieve any kind of ball. She has an irresistible full body wiggle.

Training

Advanced service dog training. We also participate in advanced Rally-O and  dock diving!

How do you know that your dog loves therapy work?

Sophia eagerly chooses to greet the people and children on our visits. She adores being petted and receives lots of love and attention on visits too. What could be better for a Miss Congeniality kind of dog! Our goals for visits are to just be alongside a person for a moment and share warmth, hope, joy, rest, relaxation, love, laughter and/or conversation if desired.
