The Troupe mourns the passing of Amy Read's therapy dog, Buster. Amy and Buster joined the PAWSitive Therapy Troupe in 2012, shortly after Buster's first birthday. They were faithful visitors at Gottlieb Memorial Hospital in Melrose Park and Villa St Benedict Senior Living in Lisle. With his calm, gentle demeanor, Buster brought comfort to hundreds of people over his years of service. Below is Amy's tribute to her beloved boy:

Dear Friends,

I wanted to express my appreciation for the incredible support I've received from you during this emotional roller coaster. Your notes, cards, calls, and visits have been a tremendous source of comfort, and I feel truly blessed.

Many of you mentioned Buster's calm demeanor. At just 3 months old, the vet did too and suggested that I consider involving him in therapy work—an idea that hadn't crossed my mind. Little did I know how much this decision would impact every aspect of my life, from work to social connections and home. While it's heartbreaking to no longer have Buster by my side, I am grateful for the incredible people, especially this troupe, that we encountered during our journey together. Your kindness and support have truly made a difference. Thank you.

Warm regards,

Amy, Monte (Buster’s son), & Thor
