Meet "Jasper"...

meet Jasper

Name Lynnlea's Mountain Journey "Jasper"
Breed/color Male Sable colored Shetland Sheepdog "Sheltie"
Birthdate March 25, 1996
Height/Weight 17 inches at the shoulder - 30 pounds
Personality I have heard it said that Shelties are like "Little Love Sponges". This would certainly describe Jasper. He is a little reserved, but will quietly approach people. At home, Jasper likes to protect the house, especially from squirrels; so he spends a lot of time looking out our sliding glass doors. Favorite games at home are catch and chasing the Laser Mouse.
Training We started with puppy kindergarten and have continued with obedience classes on and off throughout the years. We also added agility and rally classes to our training.
Awards / Titles HIC (Herding Instinct Certified)
CGC (Canine Good Citizen)
TDIAOV (Therapy Dog International - Active Outstanding Volunteer)
R2 - MCL (Rally Obedience Level 2)
Delta Society Pet Partner (Registered Therapy Dog)
Year started as a therapy dog: 2001
How do you know that your dog enjoys being a therapy dog? Jasper has a certain strut when he leaves the car and heads into a building to visit. He loves to be petted, brushed or cuddled.
Any other information that you would like to include about your dog: Jasper (coming from the same breeder) is the distant great-uncle of our other 2 therapy dogs Cinnamon and Nutmeg. Although he's really too old to play with them, they are frequently seen walking through the woods together, in our backyard.
